Friday afternoon saw Animation enthusiasts descent at Bhaidas Hall to witness the 1st Annual Frameflixx Awards 2009 organized by Frameboxx Animation |Visual Effects. This prestigious Frameflixx Awards is a celebration of creativity, animation, visual effects and short films made by the next generation of creative minds and talent in India. Present on the occasion were Mr. Rajesh Turakhia, Managing Director, Frameboxx Animation | Visual Effects, Mr. Naveen Gupta, Executive Director & CEO, Frameboxx Animation | Visual Effects, Mr. Manmohan Shetty & Mr. Darshan Zariwala along with many more dignitaries.
With a view to encourage upcoming talent, and motivate the students to get inspired to excel in the field of Animation; the Frameflixx Awards honored the Artists & Studios that have produced exceptional works. The Frameflixx awards are aimed at creating a convergence platform for the Indian animation and visual effects industry to come together under one roof & encourage students. These awards were announced with the core objective to invigorate and unite the brightest creative minds in the country on a unique platform that recognizes and rewards skill and the spirit of achievement.
The Awards were given in 4 Open categories, viz: Frameflixx visual effects grand challenger award 2009 awarded for the best visual effects shot based on a theme; Frameflixx animation grand challenger award 2009 awarded to the best animation clip based on a theme; Frameflixx live action grand challenger award 2009 awarded to the best live action video based on a theme & Frameflixx motion-graphics grand challenger award 2009 awarded to the best motion graphic based on a theme. Apart from the Open categories; there were Recognition awards - The Frameflixx Platinum Achievers' Award for Excellence in Visual Effects, Electronic Advertising, Animation Film Production & Short Film Production. There was also an Award for a Veteran in the Animation Industry for their invaluable Support to the Animation Industry.
Curtain Raiser events were held prior to this Ceremony during the last few weeks across all Frameboxx locations within the country. Students of Animation, Visual Effects or Film Making were invited to compete in selecting the best films for the various categories and get a chance to get rewarded on a platform that aims to bring passionate Animation lovers closer than to the exciting Media & Entertainment Industry.
The aim of Curtain raisers was not only to promote these films, but also to give an opportunity for students to View as well as Vote for these films. Animation & Live Action Films of Students entered for Frameflixx awards were screened in Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, Indore, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad & Surat. Students and Professionals across the Animation and Visual Effects industry attended the show.
