Agilent Technologies announces partnership with Indian Institute of Science

Agilent Technologies, the world’s premier Test & Measurement Company and a technology leader in communications, electronics, life sciences and chemical analysis has signed a definitive MoU agreement with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and the Society for Innovation & Development to form Agilent Measurement Science Center (AMSC). The center would focus on scientific research, technology & equipment development and training activities to explore new frontiers in measurement science. As a part of this MoU, Agilent Technologies will extend financial support as well as technology expertise to promote research & development with joint efforts of IISc and Society for Innovation and Development (SID).

At the occasion, Mr. Venkatesh Valluri, President and Country General Manager, Agilent Technologies said “We have been a pioneer in introducing new technologies and cutting edge innovations in the areas of measurement science. Such partnerships play an important part in strengthening the development of products and solutions that could cater to emerging economies”.

The initial offering has begun with the establishment of a Nano measurement Lab at IISc. Agilent and IISc will evaluate and pursue potential high tech research programs, which could include material mapping, nano-mechanical characterization, genomics and bio markers, spectrometry and chromatography and signal monitoring.

Agilent Technologies aims to create the flow of information from Agilent and IISc that is critical to the generation of products and processes of commercial importance and social value. Agilent Measurement Science center will also help in providing training opportunities to young innovators of IISc.

The Agilent, IISc and SID partnership to develop AMSC begins in March 2009.
