Galileo, the leading Global Distribution System in India signed up a strategic business agreement with Cox and Kings India Ltd (CKIL), the longest established travel company in the world, to distribute, manage and book travel management services for its customers in India. This tie-up will enable Cox and Kings to use Galileo as its preferred technology partner for booking and servicing all its customers. The alliance will come into effect from April 1, 2009.
With this alliance, Galileo aims to spread its network with Cox and Kings’ widespread presence across key cities in India such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad, Pune, Goa, Nagpur and Jaipur.
The brand of Cox and Kings has evolved over 250 years and it has its expertise in destination management and is a leading player in domestic, inbound and outbound tourism. It has a strong presence in business travel, conferences and foreign exchange. Cox & King will now have easy access to a larger content through the Galileo core systems. Galileo will now enable Cox and Kings to access content for over 450 airlines, 52 low cost carriers, 23 car rental companies and 83,000 hotel properties worldwide.
Taking a decisive step further the two leading travel companies have decided to extend the preferred GDS partnership for the online venture as well.

Moreover with this collaboration Cox and Kings can now make use of Galileo Flight Integrator (GFI), a platform aggregating low cost carrier content; E-tracker, a web-based solution; Low Fare Shopping Tool (LFST), an enhanced shopping tool; Galileo Leisure, an online retail booking system offering leisure travel content; ViewTrip, a website to view, print and e-mail the travel itinerary, electronic ticket receipt and electronic expense receipt on-line anytime.
