Audi India: Sales at record high in March 2009

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, continues to register robust growth in the sales in India for the third consecutive month. Audi India registered a growth of 56 percent with the sales of 162 cars in March 2009 when compared to 104 cars sold during March 2008.

Despite the challenging market situation, Audi India have registered impressive sales of 384 cars in the first quarter of 2009, a significant growth of 76 per cent compared to the sales registered during the corresponding period last year.

Commenting on the remarkable performance, Mr. Benoit Tiers, Managing Director, Audi India, said, “Audi has again successfully managed to register impressive surge in its sales during the first quarter of 2009, recording a remarkable 76 per cent growth. Our consistent growth in India demonstrates the growing acceptance from the customer for the Audi brand. Our market presence is rapidly increasing and Audi is looking to sustain this growth rate in the coming months“.

“We are extremely pleased with the positive response we have received from the Indian customers. We will soon introduce the new Audi A6 and our performance SUV- Audi Q5 in India. The Audi model range comprising the new Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi Q7, Audi TT and the super sports car Audi R8 is currently available in India across 12 dealerships: Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Chennai, Kochi and Kolkata.
