Barber shop marks 20th anniversary
Riva - The Triantafilledes family recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Family Barber Shop business at the Festival at Riva shopping complex in Annapolis.
Nick Triantafilledes said the business at 2315-B Forest Drive was opened in 1989 by his father, Trifon, and late uncle Louie.
Through the years, the business' barbers have watched "hundreds of children go from the booster chair to grown men," according to a store news release.
Triantafilledes said the anniversary celebration is an exceptional feat for a family business that has been successful "in a world of franchises and big names."
"Our customers help us through because they want old-fashioned loyalty," he said.
