Separatists Demand Withdrawal of Troops

Srinagar, Feb 22: Condemning the killing of three innocent youth in North Kashmir's Sopore on Saturday, the pro-freedom leaders on Sunday demanded immediate withdrawal of Indian troops from Kashmir.

Acting Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Bashir Ahmad Bhat has strongly condemned the killing and has said the Indian forces were killing innocent Kashmiris with the active support of state government and the Pro-India parties.
Bhat said that on the one side India makes tall claims of being the champion of the Human rights and the other hand its forces were killing innocent people in Kashmir. He said, the day is not far when the people who support the Indian 'occupation' have to answer for their wrong doings.

"Killing innocent people and imposing curfew to restrict their last rites unmasks the claims of Indian democracy. The probe that has been ordered by the Chief Minister is a mere eye wash to shield the perpetrators," Bhat added.

"How many Troops convicted on Charges of Rape, killings and enforced disappearances were punished. Has there been any action on the reports of enquiry commissions probing the Human rights violations in Kashmir," Bhat said.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a press statement has denounced the killings saying that the Indian forces have again resorted to state sponsored terrorism by killing innocent youth at Sopore on Saturday.

"We condemn the killing of innocent Kashmiris at Sopore. This incident has once again unmasked the real face of India troops and its democracy," the statement said.
"These incidents are not new for the people of Kashmiris who are being victimized by troops from last 20 years," the statement adds. (PBI)
