Sports business quick hits: Seattle uses Griffey to sell tickets

This is one of those stories that will probably work out for all involved. Ken Griffey Jr. is returning to Seattle based largely on the advise of Willie Mays who told him he can secure his legacy, and complete the circle of his career by returning to the place where it all began.

Since Griffey as so far been able to avoid and stigma of playing in the steroids era his home runs records may be the only legitimate ones left in the game today.

The Seattle mariners are reporting that they sold 16,000 individual game tickets in the 24 hours after they resigned him. That is good for baseball, good for Seattle, and ultimately good for Griffey.
