Pathways World School facilitated a visit for its students to an orphanage, the Divya Prem Seva Mission, situated at Chilla, 15 Kms away from Rishikesh. Voluntarily run by the members of Rashtriya Swayam Seva Sangh, this orphanage brings smiles on the faces of children whose parents have either died of leprosy or are suffering from leprosy.
This visit of the students of Pathways World School, was a step towards lighting up the lives of children living in the orphanage and giving them a feeling of “family”. The essence of the trip can be summarized in three basic elements- Creativity, Action and services (CAS), which is a regular program conducted by Pathways World School. The program is committed to making the students aware of their social responsibility. The students of Pathways World School, painted the flower pots (C – Creativity), delivered a presentation on ‘Monuments & Flaura and Fauna’ (A-Action) and gifted stationery and clothes to the children of orphanage (S-Services).
Speaking on the occasion Mr Sarvesh Naidu, School Director, Pathways World School said, “This is a regular initiative taken by the school every year. It is a part of the school curriculum in which the students share their knowledge and experiences with the kids in different orphanages. The visit was a great experience and we at Pathways really feel delighted for this small contribution to society. In the future, we hope to do more”
Similar activities conducted by the school in the past include the ‘visit to Goonj’, ‘Bless a Child - Mid Day Meal Program’, ‘Blood Donation Camp in North Delhi’ amongst others.
Aayan Sharma, a student from Pathways World School said, “It feels great to be a part of a social activity like this. The time we have spent here and the interactions we had with lesser priveleged children left a deep impact on us. I am glad to be a part of the school, which works towards the upliftment of society”
