Naukri.com launches Job Search on Chat

Naukri.com, India’s no.1 job site introducesNaukriOnChat that allows job search through chat messenger on Gmail/GTalk. It notonly enables search for jobs, but also allows viewing job details and applyingvia chat.

On the initiative, Vibhore Sharma, SeniorVice-President, Product & Technology, Info Edge said, “If you have ever wishedfor an easier way to find job opportunities,NaukriOnChat is the answer. Instant Messaging is popular and easy to use,and has over 70% of internet users hooked on to chatting. To bring the convenienceof chatting to searching, we launched NaukriOnChat. It is a time-efficient wayto search job opportunities without having to visit the site.”

Besides being time efficient, thisnew feature allows users to search for jobs within the privacy of their chatwindow. Consuming lower bandwidth, thechat feature even works well on non broad-band connections. The search is realtime, throwing up live job listings from Naukri.com.

To use NaukriOnChat, add jobs@chat.naukri.com as a friend to GTalk list and thentype ‘help’ to get instructions. Follow the instructions for searching for newjob opportunities. Users who are registered with Naukri.com with the same GmailID can apply to jobs via chat. Nonregistered users can search for jobs and view job descriptions. A user may notejob ids and log on to Naukri.com to apply to a job. The service is alsobeneficial to users who access Gtalk via mobile phone.

In the next phase, Naukri.com plansto extend the service to other chat clients including Yahoo and MSN.
